  • 200k and keeps on going! - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I bought this Jeep with 70k on it. It now has 200k and Ive never been happier with a vehicle. Its sturdy, reliable, and does its job. The fuel economy is average in todays world but I can still get 18 -22 mpg if I drive carefully. Its real colors show when its driven off road - its impressive. I have driven this car across the USA six times and its never let me down. Had the transmission replaced at 150k - but only because the mechanic that serviced it didnt add transmission fluid and ruined the original. The drivers seat is getting soft but other than that the paint job, interior, and everything else has held up well. I live in New Mexico - rough terrain. I wouldnt be without my Jeep!

  • The perfect 4x4! - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This truck rocks! I have owned it for 6 years and never had any problems. Performance is outstanding with the v8 and the full time Quadra-Trak is by far the best on the market. Owned a Range Rover during this same period and it was the most unreliable POS compared to the Jeep (not to mention costing much more)

  • 95 Grand Cherokee Ltd with problems - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I bought the vehicle used in 1996 with 30,000 miles. Loved the way it looked and the way the seats felt. I now have 118,000 miles. Very fun to drive but has reliability problems. It never left me stranded but has been a pain in the neck none the less. Here is the list of problems Ive had over the past 8 years: Transmission rebuilt twice (35k & 95k), A/C problems twice, rear wiper unit failed, left front boot, both fog lamp lens fell off, power antenna broke, radio failed, leak in radiator, power steering pump, mounting bracket for the alternator broke, passenger side mirror mount broke. Had many poor experiences at the dealer repairs centers...too many to list.

I bought this Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L 2wd with 74000 miles, it ran great. after 20000 miles all i have replaced was the water pump, brake pads and tune-up parts. the Jeep still runs like the day i bought it. I have never owned a more reliable vehicle. I am a Mopar fan more now than ever. If I ever buy another vehicle it would have to be a Jeep! Im Hooked

  • Good vehicle, a few problems. - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Bought mine for a price that couldnt be refused. Paint seems to be excellent by American car standards or anyone elses. Wasnt garaged for the past six years, but it looks like new for the most part. Exhaust manifold and bumpers were cracked, but replacement wasnt costly or difficult. (Bought replacements online.) Excellent stereo speakers. (factory high-end option) A minor oil leak that I can live with. Hood release wouldnt. All minor stuff. Anybody who complains about the cost associated with the GCs typical problems (radiator, manifold, AC evaporator, transfer case) never owned a Mercedes.

My wife and I bought our JGC in 98 with 56k and although we dont drive it a lot, we both like it and now have 87k on it. I like the aggressive Jeep ride, it starts very well in winter, smooth transmission and a person can pull utility trailers easily also. I have only replaced the rear brakes, tires all around and added a little a/c refrigerant.

  • Highly recommend NOT buying the Jeep - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Trouble, trouble, trouble!!! This vehicle was very poorly built. Weve had nothing but trouble from the a/c, transmission and brakes. Though it was never left us stranded it has costed dearly to fix numerous times. The Jeep handles well in winter conditions only when in 4-wheel driver.

  • Its mostly been good! - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive had the Jeep for 4 years and replaced the radiator and fixed the venting. The lenses on the fog lights pop off very easily. Next time youre out and about, look to see how many Jeeps are missing at least one lens. The most frustrating problem has been that the security light keeps coming on and sometimes prevents me from starting the vehicle and we cant seem to get it fixed. All in all it has been a great vehicle for us and the only one that could make it out of our neighborhood during the last big snowstorm, without even having to go into Low. Im now trying to sell it but having a hard time because of the low MPG and high gas prices.

  • falling apart at 100k - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

leased for 2 years, then forced to buy when it died 1 day before lease ended. was fuel system cost 1k to fix. now at 100k have repaired in last year alone; a/c, 2 oil leaks, 3 pullies on engine, distributor, starter, still have mysterious screaching noise from engine that techs at dealer cant figure out, rear wiper assembly, motorized antenna, tough to keep alligned despite new tires, doors pop when closing. bumper cover

  • love my jgc limited - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I bought this Jeep over a year ago and it has lived up to its name. It has been a very reliable vehicle and gets around 15 to 18 mpg ( depending on my foot) it has had some minor problems but its 14 yrs. Old. Had to replace the drivers door, but its been a very good rig for me. I love it and plan to keep it for a long time.
